Bring a team and come serve with us at one of the following sites:
1. Fountain of Hope Community Church
(3 teams or more)
• Inner-city urban community church that also sponsors a compassionate ministries center for youth outreach • A variety of skilled-related needs including plumbing, roofing, electrical and painting • This project could use one youth group team in the summer 2010 for exterior painting and landscaping needs --- also to assist with vacation Bible school • This project includes refurbishing a set of bathrooms and renovating a small commercial-grade kitchen area for community feeding program • There is also a need to refurbish a church-owned house also located at this church site; this project is located near the famous German Village area of Columbus
2. Toboso Church parsonage (2 teams) • Rural area ministry that will include a total renovation of existing parsonage • Painting, window-replacement, sheetrock/plaster repair, plumbing and electrical • This project site would require off-site housing and food service for the teams in nearby Newark or at Mount Vernon Nazarene University depending on the date selected
3. Chester Church (1 team) • Rural area church needs a complete roof job to include plywood and shingles • Exterior painting needs on the church and parsonage house next door • This project site would require off-site housing and food service for the team but at least two neighboring Nazarene congregations have committed to assisting with these needs for the team
4. Lancaster Gateway Church (1 team) • This New Start Church is seeking assistance with a variety of projects related to converting existing space into usable ministry areas • Painting, electrical and light plumbing skills are a great benefit on this work site • There is also a Day Care ministry area that needs painting, carpet, light electrical and some renovation • There might be a possibility of housing your team at our nearby district campgrounds in Logan depending on space availability and date selection
5. Cooke Road Church expansion (1 team) • This project presents the team with a variety of work possibilities including tree cutting and removal, painting, restoring hard wood floors, removing wall paper and minor plumbing • The plan is develop a multicultural compassionate ministry site at this location in one of the houses located on the property • There might also be the possibility of assisting with expanding the current facilities depending on the date selected by your team • This project site is located on the Northeast side of Columbus
6. Thornville Community Church (1 team) • This small rural farming community congregation has a need for a team that can assist with a variety of painting and clean-up projects • There is also the possibility of helping with parking lot needs and a church sign • This work site is near Zanesville 7. Portsmouth Sciotoville/Potter’s House (1 team) • This compassionate ministry center has a need for a team that can assist with a variety of painting, electrical and roofing projects on this facility • The project is located in the southern part of our district near the Kentucky/West Virginia borders 8. Multicultural Ministry plant in Columbus
(1 or 2 teams) • With over 780,000 residents, Columbus has need for a new Nazarene multicultural ministry effort in the sophisticated arts gallery area known as the Short North • This site will be near the Ohio State University campus in the heart of the city and minister to a variety of nationalities and non-evangelized people groups • The actual facility has not been secured at this time but will offer a variety of painting, plumbing and electrical opportunities
